Chris Dawson Wife, Lyn Dawson

Chris Dawson’s wife went missing in January 1982, with Chris Dawson claiming she had left and joined a commune. Shortly after the disappearance of Lynette Dawson Curtis moved in with Dawson and the pair later married in 1984 and then divorced in 1993 when the relationship soured.

The Dawson brothers and families moved to Queensland in 1985 where Chis worked at Keebra Park State High School first then later moved to Coombabah State High School to work with Paul.

Lynette Dawson’s body has never been found, but two coronial inquests were conducted in 2001 and 2003 with both ruling that Lynette Dawson must be dead and was most likely murdered by Chris Dawson.

In 2003 Dawson was working at St Ursula’s College in Yeppoon, Queensland.

Chris Dawson Podcast, Arrest, Charges

Chris Dawson is to be charged for the murder of Lynette Dawson. Dawson has however denied killing Lyn Dawson, with whom he has two children. He has said that she abandoned the family for a religious group.

A podcast, The Teacher’s Pet, brought global attention to the case this year.  Since May 2018, more than 27 million people have listened to The Teacher’s Pet podcast, which is produced by The Australian newspaper.

It has highlighted the bungled handling of Lyn Dawson’s case by police in the early years after her disappearance, prompting a recent apology from the state’s police commissioner.

Chris was arrested by detectives from the Queensland Homicide squad on 5th December 2018 and is to be extradited to New South Wales.

Lyn Dawson’s brother, Greg Simms, said he was “ecstatic” about the development. “We’ve always been determined  to find the truth, and that’s the reason why we’ve fought to keep Lyn’s name alive,”
