Sam Powell-Pepper Early Life and Education
Powell-Pepper was born into a family with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mother and an English father. He went to school at Mount Lawley Senior High School before switching to Wesley College on a scholarship.
In 2016, Powell-Pepper made his senior debut for the East Perth Football Club during round 20 of the 2016 WAFL season going on to play all the remaining games for the year.

The Port Adelaide Football Club drafted Powell-Pepper with their second selection and eighteenth overall in the 2016 national draft. He made his AFL debut in Port Adelaide’s twenty-eight point win against Sydney in the opening round of the 2017 season at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was named that round’s AFL Rising Star nominee after kicking two goals in the match, the first with his first kick in AFL football. In a game against Melbourne, he recorded 17 tackles, beating the club’s previous record which was 16.

Sam Powell-Pepper Shares a “Private Image” with Girlfriend
On 21st September 2018, the Port Adelaide player Sam Powell-Pepper was in the headlines once again and was forced to publicly apologise for releasing a “private image” via his social media account.
Sam Powell posted a “private image” on his Instagram account — which was quickly removed — that shows a man lying on a bed in his underwear, with a woman resting on his thigh.
Powell-Pepper was quick to sound out an apology via his Instagram account, which has more than 20,000 followers.
He released a statement on his social media account shortly after the post apologising for the accident.
“I just want to apologise for an image I posted earlier today of my girlfriend and me,” his post said.
“I posted the image by accident and immediately removed it once I realised.
“Port Adelaide Football Club is aware of an image posted on Sam Powell-Pepper’s Instagram account earlier today,” the statement said.
“The club has spoken to all parties and is comfortable the posting of this image by Sam of he and his girlfriend on this public forum was unintentional.
