Barry Chuckle, full name Barry David Elliott was born on 24 December 1944 in RotherhamWest Riding of YorkshireEngland and died on 5 August 2018. He was known for his acting role as Chuckle brothers with  Paul Harman Elliott  born on 18 October 1947. They worked on a BBC show ChuckleVision,  which celebrated its 21st series in 2010 with a stage tour titled An Audience with the Chuckle Brothers. The comedy of the Chuckle Brothers usually derives from slapstick and other visual gags, and their catchphrases include “To me, to you” and “Oh dear, oh dear.”

Barry chuckle  Biography

Barry Chuckle alongside his brother Paul Harman was born in 1944 and 1947 respectively. Their father was a well-known Gang Show performer whose stage name was Gene Patton; he worked with the 18-year-old Peter Sellers in 1943 in The No. 10 Gang and gave performances in London, Orkney and the Hebrides, Iceland, the Far East, India, and Burma. They have two elder lesser known brothers called Jimmy and Brian, who are known professionally as the Patton Brothers and who have appeared in ChuckleVision, Jimmy as the nameless character known colloquially as “No Slacking,” and Brian as another unnamed character known as “Getoutofit.”

The brothers regularly appeared at events and openings, an example being the unveiling of the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre in North Anston in July 2013, which Barry attended. They are supporters of Rotherham United Football Club.

Both brothers were married – Barry David Elliott was married to Ann Elliot.  Little is known about Barry’s wife, as the television star kept his private life under wraps. It is not known when the couple were married or how long they have been together.

Barry chuckle Death and Cause

Barry David died on  5 August 2018 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, after a suffering from ill health at the age of 73 years. Just before Barry’s death, the Chuckle Brothers were set to make a television comeback with Chuckle Time on Channel 5.

His Brother Paul shared a statement today, in which he expressed his devastation at the news. He said: “I’ve not just lost my brother, I’ve lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend.”

Their Manager Phil Dale, who announced the shocking news, said in a statement: “It is with great sadness that the family announce that Barry passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Ann and all his family.

“The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have been fans of The Chuckle Brothers and they know that they will share in part the great, great loss they feel.”
