Roger Sikhakhane was born on 30th November 1975 and died on 3rd November 2018 aged 42. He was a South African Football tactician who at the time of his death was the head coach of Royal Eagles. He is the former coach of Thanda Royal Zulu and Chippa United.

Roger Sikhakhane Career

Sikhakhane has been unwell for about a year and his club Royal Eagles had recently given him sick leave after just four National First Division matches played. His assistants Kagisho Dikgacoi and Sazi Ngubani took over on an interim basis. On November 2018, Eagles confirmed the permanent appointment of Zlatko Krmpotic.

Eagles, who have long been looking for promotion to the PSL, pinned their hopes on Sikhakhane to lead them to the top flight, as he previously did with Thanda.

Sikhakhane first caught the eye as a coach with ABC Motsepe League side in KZN, Island FC, taking them to the Nedbank Cup last 32.

He also had stints with Chippa United, helping them with the NFD title in 2013/14 season when he was the assistant coach to Vladislav Heric.

Roger Sikhakhane Death and Cause

Roger Sikhakhane died on 3rd November 2018 aged 42. The General Manager at the National First Division outfit, James Dlamini, confirmed the news on Saturday morning.

“Yes, it is true that Sikhakhane has passed away. We received the message from the family this morning. He was at the hospital at Empangeni. He was still part of Eagles. We were paying him every month,” Dlamini said.
