Tim Omotoso (Timothy Oluseun Omotoso) was born on 14th July 1958. He is an alleged rapist, televangelist, and the senior pastor of Nigerian origin. Omotoso was behind the Minister of Jesus Dominion International, based in Durban, South Africa which was allegedly involved in human trafficking syndicate.  He is currently undergoing trial at the Port Elizabeth high court for Sexual and Human Trafficking Offenses. Omotoso was arrested by the South African priority crimes unit, Hawks, on Thursday, 20 April 2017 at the Port Elizabeth airport.

Tim Omotoso Career

Tim Omotoso has an itinerant arm of his ministry under Tim Omotoso Global Outreach (T.O.G.O), while the Church arm is Jesus Dominion International with branches across South Africa, France, and the UK; it holds crusades all over the world, including Nigeria.

Omotoso is quoted saying that he was taught by the Lord to play the piano, the guitar, drums, and other musical instruments before the age of 10.n the 1980s, he served as a music director for Ebenezer Obey’s Decross Band & Inter Reformers’ Band in the 80s.

Omotoso initiated a youth project in South Africa called “Youth Empowerment Project” (YEP) in October 2011. He has mentored some music groups including Grace Galaxy and Simply Chrysolite who have composed their songs and produced albums under his guidance.

TV personality and rapper Shoggy Tosh has described Omotoso as his mentor and adopted father, as have the gospel group Covenant Voices.

Omotoso is the founder of a 24-hour satellite TV station, Ancient of Days Broadcasting Network (ADBN), which airs across the World. His weekly TV broadcast, ‘Just As I Am’, features music, sermons, and miracle sessions and airs across various networks.

Timothy Omotoso’s wife was singled out in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Tuesday, 16th October 2018 when she was reprimanded by Judge Mandela Makaula for interrupting court proceedings while State witness Cheryl Zondi was under cross-examination.

Taiwo Omotoso was seen throughout the trial laughing and smiling during Zondi’s testimony.

Tim Omotoso Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking Charges

Omotoso allegedly trafficked more than 30 girls and women who were from various branches of his church to a house in Umhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal, where he allegedly sexually exploited them.

He is co-accused with Sulani and Sitho who allegedly recruited girls all over the country and monitored their movements in the houses where they were kept.

Cheryl Zondi is the first state witness in the human trafficking trial of charismatic Nigerian Pastor Timothy Omotoso and two co-accused. She appeared at the Port Elizabeth High Court on 15th and 16th October 2018 (Monday and Tuesday) to testify against Omotoso.

Zondi, 22, who claimed Omotoso sexually assaulted her told the court she believed God was on her alleged attacker’s side. She recounted graphic details of the sexual assault on her, allegedly at the hands of the pastor.
