Celia Barquín Arozamena was one of the top junior golfers in Spain. She is a three-time winner of the Gran Prix of Chiberta tournament (2011, 2012, 2013). She was the runner-up at the 2013 Annika Invitational and the 2014 French International Junior. Celia Barquín placed second at the 2014 European Girls Team Championship (72-67 and was a participant at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. She ended her high school ranked in the top-60 in the WAGR ratings.

Celia Barquín was found dead at a golf course on Monday, 17th September 2018 on what is believed to be assault. A man ( 22-year-old Collin Daniel Richards) was charged with murder after being connected with the assault and murder. Police said in a news release that 22-year-old Celia Barquin Arozamena was found dead Monday at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames.
