Fernando Hierro Bio, Biography

Fernando Ruiz Hierro is a Spanish retired footballer and coach who is as of now the manager of the Spain National Football Team after Julen Lopetegui was relieved her duty. Ruiz was occupying the role of Sporting Director before his appointment. He will steer Spain in the Russia 2018  World Cup, with the first game being  Portugal Vs Spain on Friday, 15 July 2018. He is most known for his spells with Real Madrid and Spain, showing up more than 500 official appearances with the former and representing Spain on almost 90 occasions, while showing up in four World Cups and three European Championships.

He liked playing as a central defender or a defensive midfielder. At his peak, he could combine solid defensive play with a near clean passing range and remarkable goal-scoring talent. He was one of the most sought-after players in the 90s and early 2000. He won five La Liga and three UEFA Champions League trophies over the course of nearly 15 years in Real Madrid.
