Birgit Ragnhild Cullberg was born on 3 August 1908 in Nyköping and died on 8 September 1999. She was a Swedish choreographer and the daughter of bank administrator Carl Cullberg and Elna Westerström. Cullberg was married from 1942 to 1949 to performing artist Anders Ek. She had three children,  two sons Niklas Ek, Mats Ek, and a daughter Malin Ek.

Birgit Ragnhild Cullberg was born on 3 August 1908 in Nyköping and died on 8 September 1999. She was a Swedish choreographer and the daughter of bank administrator Carl Cullberg and Elna Westerström. Cullberg was married from 1942 to 1949 to performing artist Anders Ek. She had three children, two sons Niklas Ek, Mats Ek, and a daughter Malin Ek.

Cullberg considered lively dance under Kurt Jooss-Leeder and Lilian Karina and at The Royal Ballet, London (1952– 1957). In 1960, Cullberg was designated chief and choreographer at the Stockholm City Theater. A portion of her choreography moves was released at the Royal Opera in Stockholm.

Cullberg increased universal acknowledgment by establishing the Cullberg Ballet in the 1960s. After her resignation,her son Mats Ek assumed control over the expressive dance organization. The Swedish Arts Grants Committee founded the Cullberg grant in her respect, and she was granted a privileged residency at Stockholm University, where she had contemplated when she was youthful. She also got the French respect Commendeur des Arts et Lettres and the Italian respect Cavaliere Ufficiale.
