Anya Chalotra Biography
Anya is from Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. She grew up in Lower Penn. Anya developed her acting talent as a student at St Dominic’s Brewood, which in 2017 became St Dominic’s Grammar School and has introduced the 11-plus exam for its preparatory pupils.
She worked with Carol Molin, the school’s head of expressive arts, and starred on stage in many of the school’s productions.
Upon completing her studies at St Dominic’s sixth form, with Theatre Studies among her three A Levels, Anya trained first at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and then at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

On Wednesday, 10th October 2018, Netflix revealed The enigmatic sorceress Yennefer in The Witcher, a Short story TV Fantasy series, will be played by Anya Chalotra. The other lead female role is a new face, Freya Allan who is set to play Ciri, Princess of Cintra . The other cast of the series include Jodhi May (Game of Thrones) as Queen Calanthe; Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson (Fortitude) as the knight Eist; Adam Levy (Knightfall) as the druid Mousesack; MyAnna Buring (Downton Abbey) as Tissaia, the head of the magical academy at Aretuza; Mimi Ndiweni (The Legend of Tarzan) and Therica Wilson-Read (Suicide Club) as novice sorcerers; and Millie Brady (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) as the outcast Princess Renfri.

The Witcher series is based on the fantasy novel series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The books also inspired the incredible video game franchise by Warsaw-based game studio CD Projekt Red.
