James Cowton Bio

James Cowton was born on 10 February 1992 and died on 13 July 2018 at the age of 26 years. The Yorkshire rider died after an accident Southern 100 road races at the Isle of Man in a four-rider-bike accident and succumbed to his injuries. Cowton won his maiden International Road Race at this year’s (2018) North West 200, winning for Northern Irish outfit McAdoo Racing in the second Supertwin race. He had also won three races at the Southern 100 in previous years, with victory at the 2018’s Supersport race at the Cookstown 100 marking another career highlight.

James Cowton Biography

Born and bred in road racing, the late 26 years-old James Cowton made his Isle of Man debut in August 2012 at the Manx Grand Prix,  storming the Newcomers Race C with a fantastic win. His result wasn’t unnoticed, and the following year he got a ride for Ryan Farquhar’s KMR Kawasaki in the Supertwin Race at the North West 200. During the 2013 season, James raced at the Manx GP again, as well as at Scarborough meetings and some National Road Races, achieving a final 6th place in the Duke Road Race Rankings.

Cowton won his maiden International Road Race at the 2018’s North West 200, winning for Northern Irish outfit McAdoo Racing in the second Supertwin race. He had also won three races at the Southern 100 in the previous years, cumulating with a victory at the 2018’s Supersport race at the Cookstown 100 hence marking another career highlight.
