Erinn Chalene Cosby 1989 Sexual Assault Claim against Mike Tyson

In 1989, Bill Cosby’s then 22-year-old daughter, Erinn Cosby, claimed Mike Tyson tried to sexually assault her after they met at a New York City nightclub.

Erinn Cosby, who was battling drug and alcohol abuse at the time, said she told her parents who encouraged Tyson to undergo psychotherapy — which he did.

Her dad also forced her out of the family until she fixed her life. She was estranged from them for more than ten years until her brother Ennis Cosby’s funeral in 1997 (he was shot in a botched robbery).

Cosby’s career and image were severely damaged in the mid-2010s by many sexual assault accusations, the earliest of which date back decades. More than 60 women accused him of rape, drug-facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery, child sexual abuse, and sexual misconduct, although the statute of limitations had by then expired in nearly all cases. Cosby was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault in April 2018 and sentenced to 3 to 10 years in prison in September 2018.
