Jimmy Wopo was shot dead on Monday 18 June 2018 in Pittsburgh drive in his hometown. The shooting  also wounded a second man. This is a few hours after another rapper xxxtentacion was shot dead.

Wopo grew up listening to artists like The Game, 50 Cent and Dipset. He later got into rappers like Chief Keef, Future and Meek Mill. Wopo started rapping at age 7 and began taking his rap game seriously at age 18. His music mostly highlighted the experiences from his own life. Wopo’s first notable track Walkn Bomb was released in June 2015. It attracted more than 1 million spins on SoundCloud. His debut mixtape, Woponese, followed in July 2016. It was led by the hit single produced by Stevie B. The official video racked up over six million views on YouTube. The tape also featured the songs Prime Time and Back Door featuring Sonny Digital.

Jimmy Wopo and Hardo dropped their collaborative mixtape, Trapnese in November 2016. It featured guest verses from and ShadyHigler. Wopo started  off 2017 with the collaborative project, Muney Lane Muzik, featuring Rackboy, Gatboii Gzz, and 018 Lane. His second solo mixtape, Jordan Kobe, arrived in April 2017. It was spearheaded by the single. Other notable tracks include featuring Maxo Kream. The tape boasted production from Cashmere, Rashad Bangz, and Stevie B among others. The latest mixtape, Back Against the Wall was released in October 2017. The project was written while he was imprisoned for violating his probation. most parts of the mixtape was produced almost exclusively by Stevie B. The track-list include First Day Out, Boss Of Bosses and Lil Heavy. Wopo 2018 tracks include Devil Face and Not a Trapper featuring WillThaRapper.

Jimmy Wopo died on June 18, 2018, at the age of 21 years. He was one of two victims shot in a drive-by shooting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but died shortly after. The second victim who remains unidentified is in stable condition. Before his death, Wopo was shot and wounded on two different occasions. He also had multiple drug convictions. In 2017, the young rapper was slapped with a 2-months prison sentence for violating his probation.
