|Kelly Knight Craft (Kelly Guilfoil) was born on 24th February 1962. She is an American businesswoman and diplomat who currently serves as the United States Ambassador to Canada. She is the first woman to be the United States Ambassador to Canada.
On 12th October 2018, The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump is considering Craft to become the new ambassador to the United Nations. Filling the UN post is a priority for the White House, since the current ambassador, Nikki Haley, has announced that she will step down at the end of 2018.

Kelly Craft Early life and education
Knight Craft was born in Kentucky, United States. Her parents are the late veterinarian Dr. Bobby Guilfoil and Sherry Dale Guilfoil. Her father was a Democratic Party activist who once served as chairman of the Barren County, Kentucky Democratic Party. Knight graduated from Glasgow High School in 1980. Later on, in 1984, she graduated with a B.A. from the University of Kentucky.
Kelly Craft Political involvement and donations
Knight Craft has been described as a generous donor to political candidates.
In 2004, Knight Craft was a prominent supporter of George W. Bush, who appointed her an alternate delegate to the United Nations in 2007. As part of the delegation, her responsibilities included advising the UN ambassador on US/Africa policy.
In 2016, Knight Craft and her current husband donated millions of dollars to candidates for the 2016 Republican nomination for president. Before donating more than $2 million to Donald Trump’s campaign, the couple supported Marco Rubio.
Knight served on the board of trustees of her alma mater, the University of Kentucky for a term beginning August 2016, but resigned to accept the Canadian ambassadorship a year later.
Kelly Craft U.S. Ambassador to Canada
On 15th June 2017, Knight Craft was nominated by President Donald Trump to become the United States Ambassador to Canada. She was confirmed by the United States Senate on 3rd August and assumed office on 23rd October the same year.
In her first week as U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Knight Craft is reported to have said in an interview with CBC News that when it comes to the scientific consensus on climate change, she believes in “both sides of the science.”

Knight Craft has been married three times and divorced twice. She was married to David S. Moross and then Judson Knight.
In April 2016, she wed Joe Craft. The couple has 2 children, Jane Brady Knight, and Mia Moross.
