She won state speech competitions, was involved in theater and ran cross-country. She was studying psychology, as her mother did. A body was found on Tuesday 21 August 2018 in rural Iowa during the search for missing jogger Mollie Tibbetts, state officials said.

Mollie Tibbetts was born on 8 May 1998 in San Francisco . She is a 20 years old rising sophomore at the University of Iowa, who went missing the evening of 18 July 2018 while jogging in the rural farming town of Brooklyn, a close-knit community of about 1,500 residents.  Tibbetts was born in San Francisco and moved to Brooklyn with her mother when she was in second grade. She was studying psychology, as her mother did. 30 Days after investigators searching for the missing the student said they were focusing their efforts on five locations, her body was found on Tuesday 21 August 2018.

Mollie Tibbetts last known communication was an 18 July 2018 via a Snapchat message she sent to her boyfriend, Dalton Jack, for whom she was house sitting, according to the Register. Jack, who was out of town, looked at it but didn’t immediately reply.

The boyfriend subsequent communication was a “good morning” text the next day which received no answer. Several calls to Tibbetts, later on, went unanswered. Someone at the day-care center where she worked called to ask why she didn’t show up. Every call went straight to voicemail.

Mollie Tibbetts Missing

The family had raised more than $380,000 (£295,000) to offer a reward for information about the missing Mollie Tibbetts.

Her mother, Laura Calderwood, reportedly said the kidnapper could keep the money if her daughter was released.

A spokesperson for Crime Stoppers of Central Iowa, which was in charge of a sizeable reward fund for information, said the money would probably now go towards seeking information about the cause of her death.

“Once they catch their breath, this will turn into a weapon going the other direction to catch the person who did it,” Greg Willey.

Mollie Tibbetts  Found Dead

On Tuesday 21 August 2018, Authorities, who had narrowed their search to a carwash, Tibbetts’s boyfriend’s home, a truck stop and two farms, did not release any  information on when or how Tibbetts was found, the cause of death or said whether they have identified a suspect.

Mollie Tibbetts Suspected Murderer Cristhian Bahena Rivera Arrested

Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Special Agent Rick Rahn said that Cristhian Bahena Rivera, 24, was charged with the murder of Mollie Tibbetts on 21 August 2018, the same date her body was discovered, Police stated that the 24 years old,  Cristhian Bahena Rivera, was in the US illegally.

On Wednesday 19th September 2018, The accused killer of Iowa jogger Mollie Tibbetts will be arraigned, one month after he was arrested for allegedly killing the 20-year-old college student.
